Bowyers' Prize Day 4th July 2009

The Master and prize winners

On Saturday 4th July 2009 a small group of Bowyers met at the Royal Toxophilite Society's shooting ground, Archers' Lodge, Burnham for the annual shoot of compound and re-curve bows for the Bowyers' Medals.

It was a beautiful English summer afternoon and on arrival members of the Company were met by the President of the Society Roy Gallop and the match secretary Tim Jackson. The party then went onto the shooting ground and watched the ladies and gentlemen shooting. Afterwards the party moved back to the house and enjoyed a lovely traditional tea of sandwiches, scones and cakes.

Once the shooting was over the Master made a short speech and presented the medals as follows:

Re Curve
First Lady: Naomi Folkard
Second Lady: Jill Newland

Compound

Re Curve
First Gentleman: Kelvin Read
Second Gentleman: Tony Nilsen
