HMS Northumberland Visit Thursday, 21 March

David Laxton, Nigel Heilpern, Mark Elliott, John Ellery and Robert Lang Anderson enjoyed a fabulous day on board HMS Northumberland on 21stMarch 2019, which was moored in Portsmouth Harbour adjacent to and totally dwarfed by HMS Queen Elizabeth, also in the harbour for fitting out. We were hosted by the Commanding Officer, Commander Ally Pollard, her Officers, NCOs and crew. We joined the ship with about 40 other visitors, including the Worshipful Company of Carmen and representatives from the Ship's other military affiliations and were expertly shown around all of the ship's sections by Lt Cdr Al Hall, including the bridge and the operations control room deep inside the vessel.
