Annual Dinner of the Royal Toxophilite Society

The Master Bowyer, accompanied by the Mistress Bowyer, was privileged to be the guest of honour at the annual dinner of the Royal Toxophilite Society, a few weeks ago. A very friendly and hospitable crowd, the Royal Tox made us very welcome. We had some lively speeches, some longer than others, although I'm not sure of the relevance of the one on the Welsh language, apart from the fact that it was very funny. The second longest place name came up: - Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch, a name I used to recite as a party piece when I was a lad and by the end of the evening, I could do it again. I always used to think that it was the longest place name in the world but that is a place in New Zealand. I won't try and say that one. You learn something every day as a Bowyer

The photograph shows the Master with Bowyer/Royal Tox members present:- elder statesman, Richard Model, bow-making course supremo Richard Head and newest Bowyer member Marc Grady.
