Stevenson House Charity Visit
The Bowyers were shown around by Deborah Leonard and Sam Broderick, who were fulsome in their appreciation for our support, and showed us how valuable our contributions are to their cause. The latest Bowyers' donation paid for the large new double fridge in the communal kitchen (pictured here with Deborah, Sam and John), and also for some new wall lights in the bedrooms.
Stevenson House, which is right next to the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel, provides essential accommodation and support for the families of very sick young children in situations of extremis, and has beautifully maintained accommodation in 16 bedrooms. Their patron is Michael Crawford, who is very supportive of their aims and ideals.
Reviewing the visit afterwards, the committee members were delighted that the Bowyers were part of something on the City's doorstep that really does make a tangible difference to the lives of very sick children and their families.
