"Piercing Plate Armour with Arrows - Fact or Fiction" - 10 March, 2021
On the evening of 10 March over 30 Bowyers joined Mr Mark Stretton, Bowyer Freeman, for an engaging and informative online lecture titled: "Piercing Plate Armour with Arrows - Fact or Fiction" and it gave us an true insight into just how much damage the weapons produced by our predecessors could do! We were delighted to welcome both the Master Fletcher, Mr Stuart Robbens and the Fletcher Upper Warden Professor Anne Curry as our guests on the evening.
Mark has over 45 years’ experience in the world of Archery with over 25 years specialising in the use of the Warbow. He is currently the 17-year reigning holder of the Guinness World Record for drawing to full draw and shooting a 200lb Warbow set on 15 August 2004. Mark is a Master Arrowsmith and Past Warden of the Craft Guild of Traditional Bowyers and Fletchers as well, of course, as being a Freeman of our Company. Mark travels throughout Europe and the UK delivering Seminars, Talks and Demonstrations and has appeared on many TV programmes as an expert on the Warbow.
