New Master’s Day, St Botolph Without Bishopsgate

The Installation for Sir David Wootton (Master), Mr Mark Elliott (Upper Warden) and Mr William Charnley (Renter Warden) was held on 10th July 2024 at St Botolph’s without Bishopsgate followed by a superb lunch, at the Church Hall, for around 40 Bowyers and their guests. The service was rousing and supported by wonderful music from the St Botolph’s choir. The church bells pealed as the Bowyers and their guests left the Service.

The New Master’s Dinner was then held the following week on 17th July at Watermen’s Hall, Around forty Bowyers and guests were welcomed to dinner by the Master and Wardens. Court Assistant Richard Bowyer, who was admitted to Court earlier on the evening, spoke to those assembled entertaining them with some history of the Company of Watermen and Lightermen of the River Thames. The Master Bowyer was pleased to welcome the Clerk to the Watermen and Lightermen as a Company guest.
